Swissport Ireland, which provides ground-handling services for the aviation sector, is to create more than 200 new jobs at Dublin Airport. The jobs will be in the areas of customer service agents, ramp-handling agents, flight operations, security and aircraft appearance operatives.
Swissport has been operating at Dublin Airport since its takeover of Servisair in 2013, which operated at Dublin Airport since 1995. Today, Swissport provides ground handling services to 46 airlines, employing over 570 staff.
Globally, Swissport has a workforce of around 61,000 personnel, and is active at more than 290 stations in 48 countries.
Welcoming today’s announcement, Dublin Airport managing director Vincent Harrison said: “We are delighted to see Swissport’s business go from strength to strength at Dublin Airport.”
“The recruitment of a further 200 jobs, on top of the 350 recently announced by Dublin Airport, further endorses the economic impact of the airport. Dublin Airport has had a strong start to 2016, with 17% growth in January alone. This trend is set to continue, with 13 new routes/services due to start in the coming weeks,” he added.
