Kilkenny-based fintech company TransferMate Global Payments is adding another 25 staff to its Irish workforce, following the completion of a previous hiring round of 25 begun in January last.

The Irish-owned foreign exchange broker has forged partnerships across Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand. According to Barry Dowling, MD and co-founder at TransferMate, the firm is experiencing rapid growth and last year transferred €4.6bn in foreign currency for its clients.

He added: “The appetite of both businesses and individuals to move away from the traditional methods of transferring money is growing, just as we had predicted at the beginning of the year.

“Consumer behaviour is changing and we are at the forefront of that change, driving the message that companies and individuals have a better, faster, more competitive alternative than the banks.”

All of the 25 new positions will be Irish-based, dealing with TransferMate’s clients around the world, with additional positions also opening up in multiple cities overseas.  The firm said that it is primarily looking to fill in-house and field-based sales roles.
