AMCS announces major acquisition in Germany

AMCS in Limerick has entered into an agreement to acquire German software company Quentic and has raised new equity to fund the deal.

AMCS is a leading global supplier of integrated cloud-based software and vehicle technology for the environmental, utilities, waste, recycling, and resource industries.

Quentic is headquartered in Berlin and employs c.250 people. Branch offices are located in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain and Italy

It is one of the leading online software solution providers for EHSQ and ESG management. Its platforms facilitate customers to manage Health & Safety, Risks & Audits, Incidents & Observations, Hazardous Chemicals, Control of Work, Legal Compliance, Online Instructions, Processes, Environmental Management and Sustainability. 

Deal consideration has not been disclosed and the transaction is subject to regulatory approval, which AMCS regards as a formality.

To fund the deal, AMCS has raised new capital from private equity investor Clearlake Capital Group, alongside new equity investments from existing investors Insight Partners, Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, and Highland Europe.

AMCS is bulking up with an ambitious acquisition strategy. Earlier this year the company bought Utilibill in Australia.

Jimmy Martin, CEO of AMCS, said the Quentic acquisition will broaden the company’s expertise in the environmental services industry globally and expand its customer base. The enlarged entity will have c,4,000 customers, over 1,000 employees, and a projected annual revenue of c.€180m by the end of 2022.
