Nine companies have completed Bord na Móna (BnM)'s 2025 Accelerate Green Grow programme, which ended with a showcase in Co. Offaly on Thursday.

This year's cohort included Easydry, Circular Food Co, BioSense, Watt Footprint, Plaswire, The Planted Way, Novelplast, JTM Energy, and Pulse Market.

This year's entrants cover sectors from foodtech and sustainable hospitality to the circular economy, biodiversity, renewable energy storage, and sustainability-focused software.

The flagship accelerator for early-stage companies and SMEs in climate action and sustainability is organised by BnM in conjunction with Resolve Partners.

Since the launch in January, the nine businesses have taken part in an eight-module series of workshops and mentoring sessions, connecting them with leaders from enterprise and energy agencies, Irish-founded companies, research networks, and the investment community.

Participants also benefited from tailored networking and business development opportunities through direct engagement with senior leaders across BnM.

They join the 51 alumni companies that have previously completed Accelerate Green, bringing the total number of firms to have gone through the programme to 60 since 2022.

Many of said companies have expanded operations, entered new markets, and secured significant investment while adding 700 jobs to the Irish economy.

Over the past twelve months, six out of eight participants in the 2024 programme reported increased confidence in their leadership and strategic direction, while all eight secured new commercial opportunities or contracts following completion.

Notably, five of the eight businesses have since expanded into new sectors or markets, both regionally and internationally.

It’s a privilege to welcome nine new companies into our Accelerate Green alumni network, with each bringing fresh ideas, energy, and ambition to Ireland’s growing sustainability sector," said Tom Donnellan, CEO of Bord na Mona.

"Since launching the programme in 2022, we’ve seen firsthand how powerful it can be in helping early-stage and scaling businesses gain the confidence, insights, and connections to take their next big step."

Congratulating the participants, Minister for Climate, Environment and Energy Darragh O'Brien said: “Each of these companies is making a valuable contribution, whether through biodiversity, cleantech, the circular economy, or greener consumer solutions.

"Programmes like Accelerate Green are essential to helping early-stage businesses grow, collaborate, and drive environmental progress across the economy."

  • The Planted Way offers a platform designed specifically for food service providers. It combines expert-led chef training, AI-powered menu optimisation and real-time carbon and sustainability analytics. Addressing a market gap that while many food companies have sustainability goals, very few have the culinary tools, data, or operational support to achieve them. Their platform brings together training, technology, and insights to help teams reduce emissions, cut waste, and meet evolving sustainability standards.
  • Novelplast is recycling PET plastics, particularly the types that are harder to recycle and usually end up in landfill. They are giving a second life those materials have developed the technology and capacity to handle them at scale. They are the largest plastic recycler in Ireland, with a capacity of 33,000 tons per year and employing more than 60 people.
  • Circular Food Co are committed to reducing food waste by repurposing nutrient-rich by-products that would otherwise be discarded. They do this by upcycling spent grain from brewing into sustainable, high-value food ingredients. The goal is to address food waste while providing food manufacturers with environmentally friendly ingredient solutions that not only improve their products but also help them meet their sustainability targets, lower carbon footprints and meet CSRD goals.
  • BioSense is using data science and technology to make biodiversity measurement more accessible, transparent, and actionable. Currently, biodiversity monitoring is often inconsistent, expensive, and difficult to interpret for businesses, policymakers, and developers. They are building a solution that reimagines how ecological data is collected and used, helping organisations make informed, science-backed decisions about their environmental impact.
  • Easydry is a B Corp Certified company offering compostable textile solutions that save billions of litres of water, cut CO2 emissions, and reduce energy consumption across industries like hair, beauty, and hospitality. The product is made from natural fibres and this towel eliminates the need for cotton towels, and traditional laundry in businesses around the globe.
  • JTM Energyoffers a Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) tailored to reduce emissions and improve energy efficiency for businesses. Their systems drastically reduce diesel generator run-times by up to 80% due to advanced battery management and rapid charging. They help businesses achieve their sustainability goals while saving on operational costs. They bring highly efficient, and fast-charging storage solutions, especially in off-grid and construction settings.
  • Watt Footprint offers an all-in-one energy management solution that goes beyond traditional consultancy. Rather than simply recommending energy-saving measures, they ensure these solutions are implemented, measured, and continuously optimized. Their energy management app utilises AI and machine learning, providing businesses with real-time insights to make data-driven decisions that reduce energy usage and costs. Directly addressig the market gap of businesses struggling to convert energy audits into actionable, long-term savings.
  • Pulse Marketplatform offers a highly secure, cloud-based ESG management system. They simplify how businesses collect, organise, analyse, and report their sustainability data. Addressing the overwhelming complexity and inefficiency many companies face when using spreadsheets and disconnected systems, Pulse Market offers a single source of truth for ESG data, making sustainability reporting simpler, faster, and more effective
  • Plaswire’s score product is RX Polymer, a high-performance recycled polymer created from difficult-to-recycle industrial waste. It’s designed to replace traditional materials like concrete, timber and virgin plastics in a wide range of applications — from site fencing and utility poles to drainage components and ducting. They are not just offering a greener alternative but a better product to the market.
