Spanish-headquartered lift company FAIN has increased its market share in Ireland to 20 per cent share with the acquisition of TKE Ireland, formerly known as Thyssenkrupp Elevator.
The deal expands the portfolio of lifts managed by FAIN Ireland to 7,000, equivalent to a fifth of the national market, including those managed by independent subsidiary Doyle.
FAIN entered the Irish market in 2021 with its acquisition of OTIS Ireland and West of Ireland Lifts under the name Irish Lift Services. As of July 1, four of FAIN's Irish companies have been consolidated under a single brand, FAIN Ireland.
“Ireland has been a core pillar of our international strategy,” said Miguel Gomez, chief operating officer of FAIN.
“In just four years, we’ve grown our presence from 4,600 to over 7,000 lifts – a pace that reflects our long-term commitment to local investment, technical excellence and customer-first service.”
Founded in Madrid in 1972, FAIN remains family-owned and remains one of the fastest-growing companies in Europe for lift maintenance and modernisation.
In addition to its Irish operations, FAIN has a growing footprint in France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Belgium.
The group expects that the integration of TKE Ireland staff will deepen its technical experience, particularly as TKE products are widely used in Irish commercial and infrastructure projects.
FAIN attributes its growth to a model based on local empowerment, digitised customer service and a dense technician network.
“We’re not a faceless multinational,” said Nicolas Mediavilla, president of FAIN Group. “We’re proud to be a family business that delivers high-tech, high-touch service. That means local jobs, fast response times, and real relationships with our clients.”
FAIN Ireland's clients include Google, Guinness, Meta and Inditex, and the company plans to invest in digital systems, training, and customer experience while pursuing profitable and sustainable growth.
“We’ve brought together the strengths of four businesses under one vision,” added Michael Kelly, chief executive of FAIN Ireland. “Now, we’re focused on becoming not just the best service provider, but the best place to work."

The FAIN group has a workforce of more than 1,500 employees and a portfolio of over 100,000 pieces of equipment under maintenance. It expects annual revenues will soon exceed €250 million.
