Sligo tech firm Fastcom is to create 25 new jobs over the next three years after securing a €1.2m investment. The company will seek to recruit employees with expertise in network engineering and customer support to work at its new Sligo network operations and security centre.

Founded in Sligo in 2004, Fastcom provides a range of connectivity and network operations services for multi-site retailers across Ireland and the UK.

The company said that the jobs and external investment reflected Fastcom’s expanding customer base in the Irish and UK market. It added that it had boosted its sales and revenue by 25% this year, with plans to double its turnover in the next three years.

Account filings for 2014 show that Fastcom booked a loss of €164,000 to bring accumulated losses to €1.2m. The firm had year-end liabilities of €618,000 and had doubled its debtor book over the year to €167,000.

As well as expanding its operations in Ireland and the UK, Fastcom currently has business prospects in Singapore, Holland and Belgium.
