Kernel Capital Invests In DisplayNote Technologies

Kernel Capital through the Bank of Ireland Kernel Capital Growth Fund has invested €1.25 million in DisplayNote Technologies Ltd, a Belfast company with offices in Spain and the US.

DisplayNote builds technologies designed to make it easier for people to present, share, connect and collaborate in real-time across large-format displays, desktop and mobile devices.

The company partners with some of the world's largest manufacturers of display technology including NEC, BENQ and Sahara. DisplayNote's products are now available in 22 languages, distributed globally and there are sales to date of almost one million devices incorporating DisplayNote's software products.

“We are excited about the potential of this company and pleased to be part of the DisplayNote team as it builds on its early success to become a substantial player in the global mobile collaboration market,”  said Dr Daniel McCaughan, Chief Technology Officer of Kernel Capital.

DisplayNote CEO Paul Browne said the company will launch new products at the Web Summit in Dublin next month.

Kernel Capital's funds are supported by Bank of Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, Invest NI, University of Limerick Foundation, NUI Galway Foundation and a range of other financial institutions including public and private pension funds and a family office.

Its portfolio of over 70 companies employ 1,150 people in Ireland, almost all at graduate and post graduate level. Other investee companies in Northern Ireland include Silform Technologies which has developed a patented platform to convert waste by-product from mining into high value product utilising environmentally clean chemistry.
