Derry-based e-learning company Learning Pool has acquired Mind Click, an English company in the same sector, based in Nottingham and Brighton, with Sean Reddington, Mind Click’s MD, reinvesting in the expanded business and joining its strategic management team.

Learning Pool caters to companies which need a range of low cost e-learning solutions to improve organisational performance, providing Totara learning management systems. The company says it has expanded its product portfolio and its capacity to deliver to public sector organisations and private companies in Britain and internationally.

Customers typically use Learning Pool’s online learning services to meet a compliance requirement or to improve organisational performance. They get a hosted online-learning management system that allows training to be published, tracked and reported, and a library of online content catalogues that can be tailored to individual customer training requirements.

Learning Pool has awards under its belt, including the highest possible accreditation of three stars in the 2016 Sunday Times list of Top 100 companies to work for, and was one of Ireland’s fastest growing technology companies in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Awards, among others.

In March 2016, private equity fund Carlyle Cardinal Ireland invested in the company to finance further growth.

CEO Paul McElvaney said: “I’m delighted to welcome Mind Click to the Learning Pool family. The company’s organic growth in recent years has been remarkable and driven by genuine innovation and customer focus. These are attributes that we share at Learning Pool and I’m confident that this acquisition will be a springboard to deliver more innovative training solutions to our clients. This acquisition follows the investment in our company by Carlyle Cardinal Ireland and positions us strongly for continued growth.”

Sean Reddington of Mind Click commented: “We’re excited to join Learning Pool, which has enjoyed sustained growth and has led the way in rolling out Totara LMS and off-the-shelf content to its 1.25 million learners in 350 companies and government bodies. The combination of our two organisations will provide a compelling learning solution for customers, in a market that is growing globally.”
