Galetech Group, the Cavan-headquartered renewable energy services and development business, has acquired a 50% stake in Blade Technical Services (BTS), a provider of wind turbine blade inspection and repair services.

The acquisition of BTS is the latest expansion to Galetech Group’s fast-growing Operations division, which provides integrated renewable energy services to clients across Ireland and the UK.

BTS will join a number of other subsidiary companies within the Galetech Operations division, including Adamas, Optigear, and Optinergy.

Founded in 2014, BTS provides blade inspection services, complex structural repair, leading-edge protection, and statutory inspections to wind energy clients.

The company has built a strong track record of campaigns across Ireland and the UK and is recognised for its technical standards and safety performance.

As part of the Galetech Operations division, BTS will benefit from the Cavan-based group’s scale, resources and wider customer platform, which will enable the company to deliver larger and more complex blade inspection and repair campaigns, while maintaining its responsiveness and quality focus.

Koen Busschots, Founder and Managing Director of BTS, said: “Becoming part of Galetech Group gives BTS the scale to do more and move faster, without losing the quality and responsiveness that our clients value.

“With Galetech’s support and expertise, we can deliver larger campaigns with stronger quality assurance and the same uncompromising focus on safety.”
