Cork law firm FitzGerald Solicitors has brought solicitor Shane McCarthy into its team as a new consultant, following the recent merger between it and Shane F McCarthy & Co. Solicitors in West Cork.
McCarthy (pictured) has over 20 years’ experience in the legal profession. He has been chair of the Censorship of Publications Board for the past three years and he is also a member of the Regulatory Board of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
Speaking about his appointment, Philip O’Leary, managing partner of FitzGerald Solicitors said: “We have had a long-standing relationship with Shane, who is widely respected and regarded nationally for his professional expertise as a solicitor and for his commitment and experience on various boards.”
Shane McCarthy said: “Partnering with FitzGerald Solicitors was a natural and welcome opportunity for me and my own legal firm. Being able to work as part of a large team and firm provides an exciting opportunity for me to hone the experience I’ve gained in the specialist areas in which I have practiced.”
FitzGerald Solicitors has a team of 32 people, including Ireland’s only female Sheriff, Sinead McNamara, and the chair of the Legal Aid Board, Philip O’Leary.
