Boots Ireland has achieved the Business Working Responsibility Mark, which rewards commitment to ethical and sustainable practices.
It is the fifth time that the retailer has earned the certification, marking over a decade of responsible business.
First awarded the mark in 2013, Boots was the first retailer in Ireland to achieve the independent standard for its environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices.
The recertification highlights Boots' ongoing work across critical areas, including comprehensive employee well-being programmes, community engagement initiatives, a strong environmental performance, and good corporate governance.
“At Boots, our purpose is deeply rooted in caring for our colleagues, serving our customers, and enriching the communities we are privileged to be a part of," said Stephen Watkins, managing director of Boots Ireland.
“Our simple yet powerful goal is to leave everyone we meet better for the experience.
“That core value drives every decision we make, and this recertification is a fantastic affirmation that we are truly on the right path.”
The Business Working Responsibly Mark, awarded by Business in the Community Ireland and audited by the NSAI, is reserved for companies that consistently go beyond just compliance, and instead embed responsibility into every facet of their operations.
Tomás Sercovich, chief executive of Business in the Community Ireland, said: “We wholeheartedly applaud Boots for achieving this mark for an impressive fifth time.
“Over the years, Boots has consistently demonstrated unparalleled leadership and a profound commitment to all dimensions of sustainability.

“Their particular focus on the full life cycle of their products stand[s] out, exemplified by excellent supplier engagement upstream and their innovative Recycle at Boots scheme – a brilliant model for encouraging circular practices.
“We commend the entire Boots team for this significant achievement and their relentless dedication.”
