Wayflyer has been named the fastest growing technology company in this year’s Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Awards.

Wayflyer provides financing to consumer brands and became the sixth company in Ireland to achieve unicorn status in 2022.

The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Awards is one of Ireland’s foremost technology award programmes.

It is a ranking of the country's 50 fastest-growing technology companies (full list below) based on revenue growth over a four-year period.

This year also celebrates 25 years of the programme that promotes innovation and entrepreneurship in Ireland’s indigenous technology sector.

Business Bulletin

Reacting to the win, Aidan Corbett, CEO and Co-Founder, Wayflyer said: “Taking the top spot at Deloitte’s Fast 50 ranking is an incredibly proud moment for the team at Wayflyer.

“This recognition reflects the work we have put in since 2019 to provide funding to consumer brands, helping them solve problems that constrain their growth. The truth is, we’re only just getting started.

“A special thanks to the team at Deloitte for continuing to champion entrepreneurship across the Irish tech scene for these last 25 years.”

Cumulatively, the 2024 Fast 50 winners generated €1.4bn in total annual revenues.

The average growth rate of the companies compared to four years ago was 572% and this year, the minimum growth rate to rank was the highest it has been in the programme’s 25-year history.

The 50 companies employ over 6,000 people and 11 of the 50 ranked companies were first time winners.

Announcing the winners of the programme, James Toomey, partner and Fast 50 lead, Deloitte said: “While Ireland has solidified its reputation as a global hub for technological excellence, the true highlight has been the remarkable growth of homegrown tech talent.

“Over the past 25 years the Fast 50 programme has been at the heart of this story, championing the innovation and ambition of indigenous tech companies in Ireland.

“As we mark a milestone tonight with the 25th anniversary of the Fast 50 programme, I want to congratulate this year’s top ranked company – a pioneer who is one of the country’s first tech unicorns.

“Wayflyer’s achievement highlights the importance of local companies driving Direct Domestic Investment and proving their prowess on a global stage.”

The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranking features both private and public listed technology companies that have demonstrated innovative strategies, sound management practices and marketplace vision, driving them to achieve the status of high-growth leaders

Toomey added that the Fast 50 rankings are a “badge of honour, offering trusted recognition” based on four years of revenue growth.
