Lidl Ireland is launching the Lidl Points scheme, offering additional discounts to shoppers, to mark its 25th anniversary.

From Thursday (26 June), Lidl Plus users can start collecting points when shopping in store by scanning the app or entering their phone number at the checkout.

Shoppers will receive one point for every €1 spent, and their points will accumulate on the app. They can then exchange those points for free products or monetary coupons.

The new scheme will be available across all 229 stores on the island of Ireland following a successful trial run in a number of outlets. Since the launch of the trial in September 2023, shoppers have claimed over €3m in rewards.

The points scheme complements Lidl's existing customer offers on the Lidl Plus add such as Scratch & Win, Weekly Offers and Super Savers.

Business Bulletin

The Lidl Points rewards scheme has been a huge hit with our shoppers and is one of the many ways we continue to reward our customers through the Lidl Plus app," said Ivan Ryan, chief customer office for Lidl Ireland & Northern Ireland.

“Trial users were highly satisfied with the scheme, and we’ve seen that reflected in redemption rates of money-off vouchers and coupons for free products.

“As Ireland’s best-value retailer, we are always exploring new ways to bring value to our customers.

“This new rewards scheme represents a fresh offering to customers and enables shoppers to choose how they want to be rewarded, on top of our already market-leading prices.

“We’ve seen a real shift in customer shopping habits over the last number of months, and shoppers have never been more price-conscious.

“The new Lidl Points scheme not only extends our shopper rewards, but it’s the only scheme that allows customers to pick specific items to save on, when they want to, empowering shoppers to benefit from discounts in the way that they choose and bring a more personalised rewards scheme experience, compared to some other retailers.

“We’re delighted to roll out this new reward programme as we mark our 25th anniversary in Ireland, and we look forward to seeing even more shoppers benefit.”
