Munster Technological University will explore the role of artificial intelligence in public relations and journalism with a panel discussion at its Bishopstown campus next month.
The event is organised by Master's students in MTU's Public Relations and Journalism course as part of the Event Management module led by Fiona Collins.
The free event, 'Next Gen Storytelling: AI's Role in PR and Journalism', will take place at 6pm on Thursday, 10 April in the Tourism Building of the Bishopstown campus.
Tickets can be reserved on Eventbrite, and speakers will include Springboard Communications founder Susie Horgan, Irish Examiner business journalist Emer Walsh, and AM O'Sullivan PR client manager Mark Harrington.
Horgan has more than 25 years' experience in strategic communications and reputation management.
She is a member of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland as well as honorary secretary of the Cork Chamber, and she serves on the boards of Fota Wildlife Park and the Public Relations Consultants Association.
Prior to joining the Examiner, Walsh worked for Reach plc publications such as CorkBeo and the Irish Mirror as well as the Irish Times.

The UCC Economics graduate was named Upcoming Journalist of the Year at the 2024 UCD Smurfit School Business Journalist Awards.
Harrington specialises in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, public affairs and media relations.
He holds a BComm from UCC, an MSc in Marketing Practice, and he is also a member of PRII.
