Rebekah Brooks has been appointed Managing Director of creative and marketing talent platform The Indie List.
The appointment follows the recent transition of co-founder Peter McPartlin to a non-executive role.
The Indie List, which brings freelance marketing talent and clients together, has generated over €5m in freelance income since its inception in 2020.
Brooks, who has worked in the marketing industry for 25 years, specialises in helping brands to scale internationally.
For 11 years Brooks worked with the What’s Possible Group, setting up and leading the media agency The Specialist Works in Dublin in 2013, before moving over to the international arm of the business in London, in 2020.
The company said her work philosophy was "great work doesn't need to happen just between the hours of 9am-5pm and in an office."
Instead, the best marketing happens when "the right people are brought together in the right circumstances."
"We're delighted and excited that Rebekah has joined The Indie List team," said Una Herlihy, co-founder and CEO of The Indie List.
"Her arrival marks an exciting new chapter for us.
"As we've grown from a pandemic passion project into a thriving community of over 1,600 freelancers, we knew we needed someone very good and very special to help write our next chapter.
"Rebekah's experience and vision make her the perfect person to help us expand our impact while maintaining the personal touch that makes The Indie List special."
Rebekah said: “Clear trends are emerging globally around how clients and candidates in the
Marcomm space wish to work together.

"Top of mind is the challenge facing clients to do more with less. The Indie List enables clients' marketing teams to upskill, access marketing specialists in a frictionless way, and engage with peers through fun events.
"I am delighted to be joining this established team of go-getters and to make my mark on what is an already super proposition.”
