Webdoctor.ie has begun offering GP services and consultations in Spanish and Portuguese.
The company has become the first telehealth provider in Ireland to do so and estimates that up to 150,000 Spanish and Portuguese speakers would now be able to benefit from the offering.
Patients will also have the choice of either a male of female GP and same or next-day appointments, the same as patients seeking English-speaking care.
Webdoctor.ie is seeking to expand its services to widely spoken languages such as Polish, Ukrainian and Chinese.
We are delighted to be the first telehealth provider in Ireland to offer our portfolio of GP-led services in both Spanish and Portuguese," said Dr Marie-Louise Cassidy of Webdoctor.ie.
"It’s a reflection of our commitment to continuous service innovation and will ensure that people who need healthcare can access it easily. As with all our new services, patients can expect the same high standard of care and clinical oversight.
"It’s an exciting new development and we look forward to helping patients from across the Spanish and Portuguese speaking communities.”
To date, Webdoctor.ie has been used by over 4 million patients and facilitates an average of 30,000 monthly consultations by over 60 registered GPs.
