Geotab, the data analytics and AI company offering connected vehicle and asset services, has surpassed 5m connected vehicle subscriptions worldwide.

The last million subscriptions have been added in less than two years and have reinforced the firm's position as a global leader in connected vehicle solutions.

Neil Cawse, founder and chief executive of Geotab, said the company invests $150m annually and now holds 630 global patents, which has helped to shape the connected vehicle industry over the past 25 years.

"This 5m milestone proves that our data-driven approach to fleet management is solving real world challenges faced by businesses on a daily basis," said Cawse.

“With the rapid adoption of AI, we expect the next five years to be as transformative as the last 25.”

Geotab’s data insights help businesses improve their fleet operations, including reduction in unexpected vehicle downtime, improved safety, and reduced daily mileage through optimised route planning.

The more than 5m Geotab subscriptions produce over 100bn data points daily, equivalent to more than 37tn data points annually.

This data fuels Geotab’s AI and machine learning models with accurate benchmarks, predictive analytics, and actionable insights that empower fleets of all sizes to make smarter, faster decisions.

Since its foundation 25 years ago, Geotab has grown from a two-person start-up to an organisation of more than 2,900 people and over 700 partners globally.
