Aldi renews supply deal with Broderick's and Cookie Dó

Aldi has renewed supply deals worth €8.5m with Irish confectioners Broderick's Handmade Cakery and Cookie Dó to supply its stores in Ireland, the UK and the US.

The agreement will see Dublin-based Broderick's supply desserts to all Aldi stores in Ireland and the UK as well as 300 Aldi stores in the US, where Broderick's Slices will be made available as part of the Specialbuys promotion.

Broderick's new Pouches product will also be available in the US as part of an initial trial, and Broderick's products going on sale stateside from October.

Cookie Dó's €1m deal with Aldi ensures that the company will continue to supply the supermarket chain with its Classic Chocolate Chip and Triple Chocolate cookies as well as its new White Chocolate Chip cookies into 2023.

Tallaght-based Cookie Dó has been supplying Aldi since first entering the 2021 Grow with Aldi programme for assisting Irish suppliers in brand development and business group.

Cookie Dó proved to be one of the top five performing products on the programme, and it has since invested in new machinery and a state-of-the-art production facility with Aldi's support.

Niall O’Connor, Aldi Ireland group managing director, said: “Broderick’s has supplied our Irish stores for almost seven years now, while Cookie Dó has been a popular addition to our range since 2021.

"We are delighted to commit €8.5m to further extend these partnerships, which will also give Broderick’s access to the US market for the first time through their listing in 300 Aldi US stores."
