IT services and solutions provider Auxilion has announced plans to acquire a company as part a €17.5m investment to expand to the UK over the next three years.

The Park West-based company also plans to increase its workforce in the UK, where it has offices in Sheffield, Telford and Warrington, by 60 people over the next two years and expand its floor space by 60%.

Part of the investment will also go towards the establishment of a services centre in Sheffield to provide support for Auxilion clients, which include Microsoft, Dell, HP Inc, BT, Canford Health, Applegreen and Mainstream Renewable Power.

The centre will have capacity for 120 employees, and some of the investment will also go towards new tools and technologies for driving efficiency and services innovation.

Auxilion said it is actively seeking to buy a mid-tier IT service provider in Britain that will complement its existing portfolio of managed services and innovative IT solutions.

Philip Maguire, CEO of Auxilion, said: “Our acquisition plans and this significant investment show how committed we are to building on our success in the Irish market and expanding our presence in the UK, where we have operated for more than 20 years. The north of England offers unique opportunities, most notably due to the access it provides to top-quality talent.

“As a company we are laser-focused on providing innovative services and solutions that deliver near-term and future value, enabling companies to navigate disruption and transformation successfully."

Auxilion this year said it was on course to grow revenues by 25% year-on-year to in excess of €48m.

The latest accounts for parent company IT Alliance Group Ltd show turnover fell 1.6% to €33.6m in 2020, with Ireland accounting for close to €30m and the UK c.€3.7m, while operating profit rose from €440,000 to €1.8m.

The group credits an increase in new customers and service offerings for the growth, and said operating profit would have exceeded €2.3m but for an amortisation expense. The group had net assets of €4.2m at the end of the year.

Auxilion employed some 257 people in 2020, down from 263 in 2019, and had a payroll of €11.8m and paid director remuneration of €471,000. Last year the company announced plans to add 110 jobs, primarily in Dublin and Belfast.
