Luxury homeware and fashion retailer Avoca has opened its 14th store in Ireland at Kildare Village, creating 34 new jobs.

To celebrate the store opening, the Avoca team have put together a series of creative experiences for customers, taking place from Thursday to Sunday (28 April to 1 May).

The experiences range from singing waiters in store and around the Village to a live screen print bar where customers will be encouraged to design create their own tote bags.

The store covers 196 sq m of prime front-facing retail space and features Avoca's retail range of homeware, fashion, and gifting products, plus a food market.

Products stocked include Avoca's own brand collections of cashmere scarves and knitted accessories, as well as beauty and gifting collections, bespoke interior decor and home accessories such as printed ceramic ranges, cushions, home fragrances and candles.

"It is a very exciting day for the business, and we are thrilled to finally be partnering with Value Retail to open a prime location in Kildare Village," said Shane Flynn, managing director of Avoca.

"We are dedicated to showcasing quality Irish produce and unique products woven from the Avoca Mill to our customers and this new store will help us achieve that.

"The store promises to deliver an inspiring retail and food experience for the local community and destination shoppers. We are committed to expanding in bricks and mortar this year and Kildare Village is the first of many launches to come.”

Avoca was sold to catering giant Aramark in 2015 for an estimated €60m. The latest accounts for Avoca show the company made a loss of €10.7m in 2020, compared to a profit of €3.6m in 2019, as a result of the pandemic.
