Boots Ireland has opened two new stores in Harold's Cross and Deansgrange in Dublin, bringing the total number of stores operated by the pharmacy retail chain in Ireland to 93.
The Harold's Cross store on Harold's Cross Road in Dublin 6 opened its doors this week and will employ 14 people.
Customers will have access to pharmacy services, including prescription services, blood pressure testing and emergency contraception with additional services to be introduced over the coming months.
The Deansgrange store will be based on Clonkeen Road at the site of Grange Pharmacy, which was acquired by Boots last year and has since undergone refurbishment works.
The outlet will have an extended offering of beauty, health, and wellness products, as well as a broader range of pharmacy services. The new store in Deansgrange employs 13 people in the locality, including members of the original Grange Pharmacy team.
Commenting on the opening of the new stores, Stephen Watkins, managing director of Boots Ireland, said: “Boots Ireland is continuing to expand its comprehensive offering to customers and patients in the local communities across Ireland.
"This is an exciting milestone to begin the year with, and I wish the teams in both stores every success.”
Kirsty Farnan, store manager at Boots Deansgrange, said: “We are delighted to open the doors to our new Boots Ireland store in Deansgrange.
"We welcome our new team members that join us from the Grange Pharmacy who have worked here for many years and we look forward to welcoming old and new customers to the store.”
Jackie Doyle, store manager at Boots Harold’s Cross, added: “It is very exciting to have opened our new premises in Harold’s Cross. This is great news for the local community, as we are offering a wide range of healthcare and pharmacy services.”
Accounts for Boots Retail (Ireland) Ltd show revenues increased 14.8% to €433.4m in 2021, with profit after tax up 4.6% to €21.8m. Shareholder equity was stable at €124.8m, with €5.1m in cash and equivalents.
