Buymie, the same-day grocery delivery provider, has launched its first national TV commercial titled ‘We shop like you do’.
The commercial debuted on RTE on Monday May 2 and is complemented by poster advertising in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway.
The campaign highlights the care and attention Buymie personal shoppers take to meet customers' personal preferences and requests.
Buymie CEO Devan Hughes commented: “This is such an exciting milestone for the business. From my early days out delivering every Buymie order, it is really incredible to see how far our brand has come and the scale of our activities today.”
Buymie CMO Maria Bullen added: “Buymie is a personal shopping service. Yes we can deliver your weekly grocery shop today, or even in as little as an hour, but we believe that shouldn’t be at the expense of quality, good shelf lives and getting what you need.
“The ad campaign ‘we shop like you do’ was inspired from feedback from happy customers and also from our own childhoods. All of us on the team were taught from knee high what great produce looks, feels and smells like from our mams, our dads, our grannys and our grandads.
“In the app you can add in special requests for the shoppers so they can shop just like you, and also call you about any substitutes.”
The TV spot was created by The Cafe Agency, and directed by National Film School graduate, Emma Smith, who directed and co-wrote ‘Starry Night’, which premiered at Galway Film Fleadh 2019. The buymie commercial is Smith’s first TV ad.
The advertisement was produced by Dublin based production company Bottle.
Buymie’s grocery delivery service is available to c.2 million households across Dublin, Limerick, Cork and Galway, and Leeds and Bristol in the UK.
It works through an app, and allows for buying from Dunnes Stores and Lidl in Ireland, and Coop, Tesco and ASDA in the UK.
A personal shopper picks the selected items and then delivers them.
