A Women in Technology network has been introduced at Central Park in Leopardstown, where there are 6,500 commercial employees, as part of its ‘Live, Work, Grow’ initiative.
Many companies in the south Dublin business park have women in technology networks, including AIB, Bank of America, MasterCard, Sage, Salesforce, and Vodafone.
The aim of the Live, Work, Grow network is to connect people and reach as wide an audience as possible by opening up their female-focused events to employees at other firms.
The owner of Central Park, Green REIT, set up the Live, Work, Grow initiative. Relationship manager Lisa Geoghegan said: “The programme is a departure from the normal landlord-tenant relationship. It aims to create valuable networks and a sense of community for the tenants and their employees in the Park. The Women’s Network is a key part of that programme. By pooling resources and sharing our knowledge, we can give input to each other’s programmes and reach an even bigger audience.”
The inaugural event, dedicated to inspiring women leaders of Central Park, attracted 150 people who joined in a discussion of many topics relating to women in the workplace, including the importance of formal and informal mentors for women in the workplace; encouraging women in their early careers; the self-belief that’s necessary for leading teams; overcoming self-doubt; and achieving a balance between professional and personal life while understanding that this balance changes over time.
Salesforce women’s network vice president Galadrielle Heinrich chaired the sessions, which heard from Avril Crowley, marketing director with Sage; Olivia Leonard, MasterCard’s SVP of enterprise architecture; Joanna Gilfoy, head of enterprise customer solutions at Vodafone, and Terri Moloney, director of employee success at Salesforce.
