US chemicals supplier ChemPoint has expanded into Europe with the opening of its EMEA headquarters in Dublin.
The Univar Solutions subsidiary has appointed Dr Anna Wilson as EMEA general manager and made a number of hires in technical sales and market development, customer service, supply chain operations, regulatory and quality, and product management.
ChemPoint offers marketing, sales and distribution in North America, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America for more than 70 suppliers and over 200 product lines.
Austin Nichols, president and chief executive of ChemPoint, said Dublin offered the company "unparalleled access to exceptional talent" while serving as "a convenient hub for international travel connectivity".
As such, he believes the capital will enhance ChemPoint's "ability to meet with customers, engage with supplier partners, and attend industry conferences and events to stay abreast of market trends."
Dr Wilson said she was thrilled to join ChemPoint, describing the company as a "dynamic and agile organisation that offers a spirit of adventure for those ready to push boundaries and reshape the perception of the chemical industry.
"I truly believe we will have a significant impact on fine chemical distribution across Europe," she added.
Peter Burke, the minister for enterprise, tourism and employment, welcomed ChemPoint's arrival as "a strong endorsement of Ireland’s reputation as a hub for innovation, talent, and global business.

"This investment not only brings high-quality jobs to our economy but also strengthens our position in the specialty chemicals sector."
Michael Lohan, chief executive of IDA Ireland, said Ireland "remains a strong location for companies looking to expand into Europe and this decision to locate in Dublin underscores Ireland’s attractiveness as a location for global solutions providers.’’
