Creditors Meeting For La Mere Zou

A creditors meeting has been called for La Mere Zou Ltd, the company which operates the long-established French restaurant on St Stephen’s Green in Dublin. The meeting has been notified fro January 20.

“We are sorry to announce that La mère Zou has ceased trading and is now closed,” said director Eric Tydgadt in a statement on the company’s website. “I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to all my customers who have supported La mère Zou over the past 22 years. Thank you and goodbye.”

La Mere Zou Ltd booked a loss of €51,000 in the year to end January 2015, according to filed accounts. Year-end creditors amounted to €177,000 compared with €109,000 a year previously.

At 31 January 2015, bank debt stood at €35,000, up from €20,000, and taxation creditors amounted to €76,000 compared with €6,500 in January 2014. Trade creditors reduced through 2014 from €83,000 to €66,000.

The company’s sole shareholders are directors Eric Tydgadt and Isabelle Volpert, who are originally from Belgium and started the restaurant venture in Dublin in 1994.
