Design Partners wins Grand Prix at IDI awards

Design Partners in Bray has won the Grand Prix award at the IDI Irish Design Awards.

Design Partners, acquired in May 2022 by PA Consulting, won two awards in the Product Design category.

Run by the Institute of Irish Designers in Ireland (IDI), the annual awards celebrate the breadth and quality of contemporary Irish design. 

The IDI’s panel of national and international judges selected 42 winners across six categories:

  • Fashion and Textiles;
  • Product Design
  • Digital Design
  • Visual Communications
  • Structures and Spaces
  • Special Awards, which include the Client Appreciation, Design Education and Research, and Design for Good.

Award winners include:

In Association with

  • Steve Doogan Illustration for his cover of Manchán Magan’s book, ‘Tree Dogs, Banshee Fingers and Other Irish Words for Nature’.
  • Textile designers Electronic Sheep for their ‘Kilburn Tapestries, a knitted tapestry wall-hanging based on the untold stories of the Irish community in Brent in London.
  • Kerry-based Doireann Healy of Begley & Bowie, who received the Rising Star award.
  • Limerick United Against Racism who won the Design for Good award for using print and digital design to communicate the campaign’s key messages.
  • Strokestown Famine Museum in the Structures and Spaces category.
  • O’Donnell O’Neill Design, winners of the Client Appreciation Award for their work with Press Up Hospitality Group.

Charlotte Barker, CEO of the Institute of Designers in Ireland, said the annual Irish Design Awards are a hotly contested competition of the very best of Irish design.

“The awards demonstrate the impact design has on businesses, organisations and society, and the standard of design this year is as high as ever, giving our international judges a difficult job to do.
