DMG Media Ireland, the publisher of Business Plus and the Irish Daily Mail, has agreed a bespoke partnership with Sky Ireland to promote its television content across DMG portfolio of print and digital titles.

The partnership will see a mix of editorial, video, display and social advertising to amplify content across the full DMG suite of platforms, which also includes the Irish Mail on Sunday, MailOnline, EVOKE, Extra.ie, Rollercoaster.ie and Geek Ireland.

DMG, whose titles are read by a combined 3.6m Irish adults each month, said the long-term partnership would "reinforce Sky as the number one destination for content," promote its original and exclusive programming as well as content from platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and Apple TV+.

Karl Byrne, group head of sales at DMG Media Ireland, said: “This partnership allows us to apply the full DMG ecosystem to build awareness for Sky content, product, and brand.

"This is what we do best at DMG Media – we engage audiences through great content. The obvious synergies at play for both brands mean this partnership will not only add value for our client but also our audiences."

Caroline Donnellan, head of marketing at Sky Ireland, added: "We are delighted to be working with DMG, their diverse and engaged audiences are a natural fit and will enable us to showcase our huge breadth of Sky Original and Sky exclusive content available on our award-winning Sky Q platform."

Sky, a subsidiary of Comcast, has 23m customers across six countries in Europe, and it has agreed deals in recent years to bundle the likes of Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, and Spotify into its technology and subscription platform.

The company has committed to doubling its investment in original content by 2024 through Sky Studios, and its new television and film studio, Sky Studios Elstree, which will open this year, is expected to create 2,000 jobs and generate £3bn in production investment in the UK.

Sky employs nearly 1,000 people in Ireland, including 750 at its head office in Dublin, and the company has also partnered with Age Action as part of its Sky Cares programme to help support older people.

The company became the first primary partner of the Republic of Ireland women's national football team in 2021, and it has begun the process of opening four retail stores across the country in recent weeks.
