Ecofil has been awarded a framework agreement by the four Dublin local authorities for the supply of outdoor bottle filling stations over the next four years.

The Fingal-based sustainable water solutions company, which is part of the ERG Group of companies, has designed and manufactured the Iconic-V machine in Ireland.

Since launch last year, the Iconic-V has been installed by 18 local authorities in Ireland and several installations have been completed in Northern Ireland.

The smart machine can track critical data such as the volume of water dispense and, as a result of using the sustainable water dispenser, the number of plastic bottles saved from landfill.

Some 18 installations are set to be completed by Fingal County Council in the coming weeks.

“Securing this framework agreement is a vote of confidence for the Iconic-V machine," said Peter Wynne, managing director of Ecofil.

"The Ecofil team is excited about the increasing contribution it is making to the cause of sustainability and environmental protection. Dublin City Council; and the County Councils of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown, Fingal, and South Dublin; are each making a further positive step in their own very progressive sustainable programmes.”

“As previous winners of the National Green Awards, we are delighted that Ecofil, and the Iconic-V have been once again shortlisted as finalists in three categories for the 2025 National awards.

"We hope the positive role we play in protecting our environment will be recognised at this year’s awards ceremony to be held next month, although to have been shortlisted is in itself a major achievement for our company”

Ecofil employs 32 people and is owned by Wynne, Jimmy Guerin and Jason Holland who control the ERG Group. The company is yet to file financial accounts.
