eir Business is partnering with Dublin IT firm Asavie to launch a new nationwide internet of things (IoT) service aimed at businesses.

IoT Connect will be pitched at small and large companies in multiple fields, including healthcare, transport and manufacturing, to connect assets in the field to the internet and collect real-time, intelligent data to optimise the design and delivery of products and services.

The service is built on Asavie PassBridge, an IoT connectivity platform designed to enable telecom providers such as eir to deliver secure SIM-based M2M connectivity solutions.

eir IoT Connect will provide businesses with cellular mobile connectivity (including global roaming), an online self-care portal to manage their IoT assets and a choice of private or internet-based network solutions.

Bill Archer, managing director of eir Business, said: “Together with Asavie, eir Business makes managing connected devices easier than ever, so businesses can focus on collecting their data, refining their applications and ultimately building a better service for their customers.”
