The Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI) has announced an expanded list of 28 recipients for its 2022 Female Futures Fund, its leadership bursary programme for high-potential women working in advertising.

IAPI said the judging panel struggled to narrow down the applicants to 25 recipients as it intended, meaning an additional three people will take part in the programme, which is now in its third year.

Developed by IAPI, in collaboration with Diageo, the Female Futures Fund is designed to accelerate women into senior roles to ensure the industry retains and promotes its best female talent while enabling them to fulfil their potential.

IAPI and Diageo believe the programme will help to close the gender gap at the leadership level in advertising, and this year's workshops will be led by PRISM founder and director Danica Murphy.

"In this year's programme we will change the leadership language of 'networking' to 'building a community'," Murphy said. "The 2022 programme will include in-person workshops where applicants will challenge, support, stretch and learn from each other under the mentorship of role models in the industry."

Charley Stoney, CEO of IAPI and a member of the judging panel, said: “I am so inspired by the applicants to this years’ Female Futures Fund coaching bursary.

"Their individual stories and ambition for their own career journey as well as for the industry gives me huge confidence in the female leaders of tomorrow, and this year, I’m delighted to say that we have eight creative specialists among the successful applicants.

"This is a particular area of focus for IAPI in terms of gender balance and I believe this programme will play no small part in their development as leaders.
