Luxury glamping accommodation provider Further Space has opened its first site in the Republic of Ireland at Forth Mountain in Co Wexford.
The micro-tourism company has partnered with the owner of the Forth Mountain Study, James O'Connor, to create the site, which will open from July 4 adjacent to hiking and horse-riding trails with views of the Blackstairs Mountain and Mount Leinster.
Six glamping pods manufactured at Further Space's 20,000 sq ft facility in Carryduff, Co Down have been installed at the site. The company already has eight glamping sites in Northern Ireland and Scotland with a total of 50 pods.
"We go to great lengths to locate our Further Space pods in unique places which encourage people to reconnect with nature while creating greater health and wellbeing for our explorers," said David Maxwell, co-founder of Further Space.
“We pride ourselves on delivering ‘more than’ experiences at all of our Further Space sites, and when our explorers choose to stay with us, they are also supporting the development of the local environment and community.
"Our spaces preserve cultural and natural heritage in rural areas supporting sustainable micro-tourism and promoting the welfare of the local community. We are excited to be working with James in a part of the world which obviously means so much to him."
Guests can expect bespoke breakfust packs with local product and ingredients from nearby supplier, The Saucy Butcher, and firepit and BBQ packs are also available. Guests are encouraged to bring their pets.
"Little did I know 30 years ago while admiring the views with my uncle Luke that I would be now able to welcome people to Forth Mountain with the help of Further Space," O'Connor said of the opening.
Further Space has the ambition of deploying 500 accommodation units at 85 locations by May 2025. Pods sleep four people and are available for €100 per night.
