TV tech show The Gadget Buzz is to get a second series. Produced by BeaumexConnects, the first series achieved audiences of over 1.9 million viewers, and the second outing of six episodes will debut Friday April 1, at 8.30pm on TV3.

The only dedicated tech show on TV in Ireland, The Gadget Buzz will continue to investigate the gadgets and technologies that are changing our world. The programme was originally devised by Andy O’Donoghue, who is series editor.

O’Donoghue said: “This year the show has a fresh ‘urban’ feel but continues to focus on cutting edge technology that is, or will be, changing our lives — from beer-making robots to a world-champion Irish powerlifter whose lycra workout gear measures how hard she’s working.

“We travelled throughout Ireland and Europe to find the stories that would engage Irish viewers and encourage us to think beyond what technology does now, to what it can do in the future.”

Presented by Joe Donnelly and Dr Fionnuala Conway, the second season will look at a wide range of topics including how technology is influencing the retro-revival of vinyl; how robots can fit into daily life; the maker-movement; crowdfunding; smart homes and the technology that watches us, day and night.
