Google is releasing two new smartphones to take on the iPhone.
Its Nexus 5x and Nexus 6P are now available to pre-order in Ireland, UK, US and Japan. They're joining just in time for the release of Android's latest software, Marshmallow, available to Nexus users starting next week.
Both phones not only run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but also feature 12.3 MP cameras with 4K capable video as well as Google's new fingerprint sensor, Nexus Imprint. The sensor, located on the back of the phone, uses fingerprint authentication to complete security-sensitive activities, such as payments via Android Pay.
As for differences between the handsets, the Nexus 5X is more of an entry-level phone, whereas the Nexus 6P is heavier-duty — as reflected in their respective specs.
