Professional services giant Grant Thornton Ireland has announced that Bermuda's largest independent audit firm Arthur Morris & Company Ltd will join its network in a move that will support the expansion its services and industry focus to its clients.
The announcement comes as the advisory, audit and accounting services provider continues to grow its international footprint in an increasingly globalised sector.
"This is a natural progression of the long-standing relationship between the two firms. Bermuda is a key location for international insurance and reinsurance sectors," said Michael McAteer, managing partner at Grant Thornton Ireland.
"Together we will bring our clients the local knowledge, international expertise and global presence to help their businesses succeed – wherever they are located.”
Founded in 1978, Arthur Morris & Company has provided audit and accounting services to many local and international companies.
Andrew Howie, partner and head of advisory at Grant Thornton Bermuda, said: "The expansion of Grant Thornton in the Bermuda market will support internationally focused clients to navigate the current economic landscape and arm them to become more resilient in the face of challenges posed by global market volatility, inflationary pressures and technological change.
"This move will also offer significant employment opportunities through open roles as well as promising excellent career development avenues for current team members in Bermuda.”
Grant Thornton Ireland employs over 2,500 people across eight offices and has a presence in more than 130 countries.
