‘Semi-national’ radio station iRadio has unveiled a ‘Golden Hour’ rebrand.
iRadio broadcasts to 15 counties: Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Leitrim, Donegal, Monaghan, Cavan, Longford, Westmeath, Offaly, Laois, Kildare, Meath and Louth.
Launched in 2008, the station claims 347,000 weekly listeners.
CEO Mark Cunning commented: “Across the last two years there have been times when it felt like we were running to stand still. Like so many others we were constantly in survival mode, pivoting and resetting to overcome the many challenges Covid presented to our product and our business. We’re excited about 2022, it’s time to have fun, to push boundaries and to move forward.”
The new branding is mostly orange and yellow, with hues of teal blue, pink and purple. The rebrand has been accompanied by a 60-second commercial that features a snail called Senan.
iRadio creative director Derek Cassells said adding a sense of playfulness and fun was key to the brand refresh.
“Overall it has been a great success. It certainly complements the station sound and really does represent our listeners and the personality of the station much more accurately.”
Wilton Radio Ltd, the iRadio parent company, booked a profit of €620,000 in 2020, according to accounts filed last year.
