Five new properties are joining Ireland’s Blue Book collection of country houses, historic hotels, and restaurants for 2023, bringing the total number of properties in the collection to 63.

Ireland's Blue Book is a bespoke collection of Irish Country House Hotels, Manor Houses, Castles and Restaurants, marketed as charming and stylish hideaways for a romantic escape or weekend retreat.

Activities vary from golf, fishing, spas and cookery schools or just relaxing in warm and comfortable surroundings.

Fernhill House & Gardens is a luxurious Georgian mansion set on picturesque gardens in Clonakilty, West Cork.

The Lansdowne Kenmare is a quirky townhouse which offers real Irish hospitality, featuring the LK Café, the Dining Bar Terrace, the Piano Lounge and a kitchen focused on serving food cooked over coals.

The Old Inn in Co Down, dating back to 1614, is labelled as one of the region’s most historic hotels due in part to its links with author C.S. Lewis.

Perryville House in Kinsale has 34 bedrooms, while Tubbrid Castle in Co Kilkenny is a 15th-century Irish castle that has been restored to its former glory.

John Brennan at the Lansdowne Kenmare commented: “We are delighted to have The Lansdowne Kenmare join Ireland’s Blue Book.

“Ireland’s Blue Book represents the true essence of Irish hospitality and The Lansdowne Kenmare, dating from 1770, proudly carries that heritage forward following a total renovation in 2021.  We are all very proud to be a member of an association with such a reputation.”

Incoming Blue Book chairman Joe O’Flynn welcomed the new additions, adding: “I would also like to sincerely thank our loyal guests for their continued support of the Blue Book this year.”
