Turnover at Just Eat’s operation in Ireland advanced by 50% to €65m in 2021, though the profit margin contracted from the previous year.
Gross profit was €44m for a gross profit margin on 68%, according to filed accounts.
Administrative expenses, which are not broken out in the accounts filing, rose to €27.9m from €20.4m the prior year.
Headcount increased from 35 to 101 people through 2021, with the payroll overhead rising from €2.7m to €7.5m
Operating profit in 2021 was €16.5m, up from €14.3m. Operating profit margin was 25% compared with 33% in the prior years.
The net profit at Just Eat Ireland Ltd was €14m, and dividends of €10m were paid to the plc parent.
Year-end trade creditors – who include Just Eat’s restaurant partners – totalled €5.1m in December 2021, up from €3.7m a year earlier.
Just Eat, led in Ireland by chief executive Amanda Roche-Kelly, recently announced that is making seaweed-coated takeaway boxes available for restaurants to purchase if they wish to replace plastic-lined containers typically used in the industry.
Roche Kelly and fellow director Jerome Gavin shared €316,000 in remuneration and €29,000 in pension payments in 2021.
