Learning Pool adds Neha Gupta as board member

Derry-based corporate e-learning technology developer Learning Pool has appointed Neha Gupta as a non-executive member of its board.

Gupta, who was CEO of US-based True Office Learning before it was acquired by Learning Pool last January, will provide independent advice as the company continues growth efforts for its AI-powered learning platform in Europe and North America.

The company said Gupta is a leader in governance, risk and compliance (GRC) and learning, helping thousands of companies to manage their conduct risk and adopt new ways to implement ethics and compliance programs.

“Neha is uniquely qualified to help strengthen our board,” said Ben Betts, CEO of Learning Pool. “She brings deep industry knowledge and customer insight, and has a proven track record of disrupting the status quo through innovative solutions.

True Office Learning was spun out from the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and later served dozens fo Fortune 100 companies.

Prior to her role as CEO, Gupta served as senior director of learning solutions & strategic initiatives at NYSE Governance Services, leading all product strategy and development initiatives for the business.

She has held various executive roles across financial services, technology and non-profit organisations, and she holds an MBA in Global Business & Strategy from Rutgers Business School and a BE from Honors School of Engineering at Rutgers in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Accounts for the 12 months to the end of April 2021 show Learning Pool Ltd grew turnover 13% to £18.3m while investing more than £2.5m in research and development across its product range.

The company made a profit of £3.5m after tax, up 25% from £2.8m in 2020, with the directors expressing confidence in continued growth in the future. The company recorded net assets of £8.6m, and employed an average of 212 people in 2021.

Learning Pool was taken over by Los Angeles and London-based investment firm Marlin Equity Partners in July 2021.

The Derry firm's clients include The FA, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Sky, and Swiss Re, and it claims 5m annual users.
