Dublin’s Liberties will get an influx of student life in September with the opening of a new student housing complex on Bonham Street, between Ushers Island and Thomas Street, near the National College of Art and Design.

Binary Hub (pictured) is a venture of UK-based The Student Housing Company and Mullingar-based Bennett Construction. SHC was set up in 2011 to develop purpose-built student accommodation in the UK and Europe, and has delivered over 11,000 rooms in six European cities.

Made up of ‘cluster apartments’ including from three to eight bedrooms, the variation on dorms includes laundry facilities, on-site gym, study room, bike storage, WiFi, common room and 24-hour maintenance and security support.

These are included in the rent, which starts at €206 per week. Despite the badlands location, Binary Hub accommodation is fully booked for the coming year.

The Student Housing Company is set to develop its presence in Ireland further, having acquired two other sites in Dublin which it plans to open in 2017 and 2018.

Bob Crompton of The Student Housing Company commented: “We’re delighted to announce the opening of Binary Hub. It’s exciting for us to be a part of such a vibrant student city, which clearly requires more student housing.  This has been a major project for us with over 1,000 people working on site during the construction phase and we are delighted with the end result.

“Furthermore, because Binary Hub couldn’t be better positioned, we have already had an overwhelming response since announcing the development. Like our many other residences across Europe, I’m certain that we have created a comfortable and convenient home away from home for all of the students that will be moving in come September.”
