Lough Erne Resort in Co Fermanagh is set to undergo a multi-million pound facelift as part of the second phase of US-based owners TRU Hotels and Resorts' long-term investment plan to refocus the hotel around guest wellbeing and mindfulness.
The interiors of the luxury hotel will be refurbished to "reflect the natural assets" of the resort's 600-acre private peninsula, which features lakes, countryside and landscaped grounds.
The renovation will begin with the installation of a new wedding pavilion in October, and the project represents the largest capital injection into Lough Erne Resort since the 2015 takeover by Lough Shore Road Limited, a joint venture between TRU and Advantage Capital Holdings.
"Lough Erne Resort is an incredible property," said general manager Joanne Walsh. "This investment will see the Resort transformed. Our old-world interiors are set for a makeover that aligns with the beauty of our countryside setting and the pursuits which we offer on Lough Erne.”
Jonathan Gallagher, marketing director at Lough Erne Resort, added: “We are set to elevate the Lough Erne Resort brand and interiors in a way that connects the physical to the experiential.
"Our people and place will be revitalised to create a luxury destination that connects mind, body and soul in the countryside.”
The announcement of the investment comes weeks after PGA EuroPro Tour announced that its tour finale event would take place at the resort's Faldo Course, designed by Sir Nick Faldo, this October.
Lough Erne first opened in 2007 and features two championship golf courses, a Thai spar, and three restaurants.
