Applegreen service stations and Marks & Spencer have announced an exclusive partnership that will see M&S food products at Applegreen roadside stores across the country.
The deal will initially see Marks & Spencer ‘shop-in-shops’ in five locations.
The first will be Mountgorry in Swords, Co Dublin in November, followed by Booterstown in south Dublin "shortly afterwards", according to Applegreen.
Three more locations will open in Q1 2023 at Celbridge, Co Kildare, Kinsealy, Co Dublin, and at the M11 services area at Cullenmore, Co Wicklow.
These will see a selection of fresh fruits, salads and sandwiches, alongside M&S dinners, which will complement Applegreen’s existing product range.
Applegreen Ireland MD Fiona Matthews said: “As a proud Irish business, we believe this partnership will complement our market-leading offer of choice, quality, value, and a great experience to our customers on the road.”
Eddie Murphy of M&S added: “This partnership will expand our footprint in Ireland and help bring delicious, great value M&S Food to even more customers.
"Applegreen is a fantastic Irish brand, and we are hugely excited to be partnering with them in this market. M&S has built great heritage with Irish customers since opening here almost 43 years ago.”
Applegreen opened its first store in Ballyfermot in 1992 and since then has grown to over 200 locations in Ireland. It has also expanded internationally, with a combined store count of 620 across Ireland, the UK and the US, through the purchase of UK roadside operator Welcome Break in 2018 and US based HMSHost in 2021.
M&S food products are available in 300 roadside, rail, and airport locations in the UK.
Marks & Spencer operates 18 stores in Ireland, having first opended its Mary Street store in Dublin in 1979.
