Law magazine The American Lawyer has named Matheson partner Pat English to its list of Transatlantic Rising Stars. The list honours lawyers under the age of 40 for “excellence in handling transatlantic matters across the key areas of corporate, finance, disputes and outstanding transatlantic strategy”.

English (pictured) is a senior member of the Matheson International Business and US Business Groups and became partner in 2009. That same year, he moved with his family to the US to lead the New York office, and later the Palo Alto office.

English’s practice focuses on advising predominantly US clients on establishing operations and doing business in and from Ireland.

Managing partner Michael Jackson commented: “We are particularly pleased that Pat and his team's superior client service levels to internationally focused clients and financial institutions doing business in and from Ireland have been recognised in this way.”

Reflecting on the win, English said: “The development of close relationships with our clients in the US is integral to our business and our success here at Matheson. I am very grateful for this award, which is testament to the collaborative effort of the team on both sides of the Atlantic.”
