Media planning and buying agency MediaCom has secured Jameson owner Irish Distillers as a client following a competitive pitch process and will be responsible for the company's paid media in Ireland.

MediaCom said it will work with Irish Distillers on media planning, optimising performance across the company's paid digital media and using wider communications strategies to identify growth opportunities in the Irish market.

The Irish Distillers' portfolio of Irish whiskeys spans Jameson, Powers, Midleton Very Rare and Redbreast.

Parent Pernod Ricard’s brands include Absolut Vodka, Malfy Gin, Beefeater Gin, Havana Club and Malibu as well as many well-known wine and champagne brands.

"We look forward to working closely with Irish Distillers to strategise and execute on innovative media initiatives in the Irish market, and to present its impressive portfolio of well-known drinks brands to consumers in fresh and interesting ways," Ed Ling (pictured), chief growth and operations officer with MediaCom Ireland.

Irish Distillers recently committed €50m to making its Midleton Distillery carbon neutral by 2026, the largest such investment by an Irish distiller.

Irish Distillers, which employs 650 people in Cork and Dublin, sold a record 5.8m cases of Jameson during the first-half of its financial year, an increase of 22% year-on-year.
