Thai takeaway chain OHO, which has four outlets in Northern Ireland, has extended its reach south of the border to Dublin.

OHO Ranelagh and OHO Blackrock have commenced trading, creating 35 new jobs, according to the firm.

Known for its focus on fresh and authentic Thai cuisine, the expansion complements OHO’s existing outlets in Banbridge, Downpatrick, Newry and Omagh.

OHO was established in 2020 by Brian Monaghan and Group Head Chef Ole Sothorn, who moved to Ireland from Thailand in 2003. The first OHO outlet was in Newry.

OHO says its chefs are Thai natives who “create authentic dishes using traditional techniques for an unmatchable Thai food experience in Ireland”.

Brian Monaghan commented: “While I’m a Banbridge native, I’ve spent much of my adult life in Dublin so I’m delighted to announce OHO’s move to Ranelagh and Blackrock.

“Ole’s passion and knowledge of Thai food is unrivalled and this comes across in OHO’s offering.

“Having kicked things off in 2020 during the pandemic, we are so grateful for the support of our loyal customers who have backed us throughout and thanks to them we are in a position to expand beyond our home turf, bringing a taste of authentic Bangkok to Blackrock.”

Noodle dishes are priced at €13,95 for online orders.

The OHO operating company, Oho Thai Food Group Ltd, raised €120,000 from investors Niall Anderton, Mark Buckley and ACV Badge Investments Ltd in February 2021. Diep at Home Ltd in Drumcondra and Resnet Communications in Sandyford were allocated shares in exchange for services.
