Profits at Britvic Ireland more than doubled last year, financial statements for 2024 show.

Earlier this year, Britvic Ireland became part of Carlsberg following the Danish drinks group's purchase of its parent company, Britvic PLC, for £3.3bn.

Carlsberg has retained Britvic Ireland as a standalone business led by managing director Kevin Donnelly.

The latest accounts show pre-tax profit for the year ended September 30, 2024, was €16.7m, more than double the profit recorded in 2023.

The boost in profits was linked to a 9% rise or €15.4m increase in turnover, combined with an increase in selling prices.

Business Bulletin

Britvic Ireland produces drinks such as Ballygowan, MiWadi, Club, Cidona and TK.

Sales increases in Pepsi, 7Up, Ballygowan and MiWadi, along with its flavoured water product, Ballygowan Hint of Fruit, boosted profits.

The Britvic Americas merger with Carlsberg has also resulted in a revenue increase of €2.4m.

In addition, the company said the introduction of the Deposit and Return Scheme brought in €2.9m in revenue.

The introduction of the scheme had increased costs in 2023, but Britvic said it has since seen administrative overheads fall by €1.65m.

The drinks company paid €2.9m in tax, up from €1.78m a year earlier.
