PwC Cork has relocated to new waterfront offices at One Albert Quay. The accountancy firm says the building is one of the most efficient energy efficient in the country.

The building spec includes heat pump technology, rainwater harvesting and treatment, solar reflective energy efficient glazing, solar thermal collectors, glazed atrium roof, carbon free concrete and intelligent lighting systems.

The building was awarded Gold LEED shell and core pre-certification from the US Green Building Council, a third party verification that the building was designed and built using strategies that improve performance in energy savings, increase water efficiency, cut CO2 emissions and improve indoor environmental quality.

According to PwC, the Cork practice has doubled its size in the last few years. PwC Cork senior partner Ger O'Mahoney stated: “Cork is a very important part of our business and the move significantly enhances our growth capacity in the region. The changing tax landscape is increasing demands for specialist services from international and domestic companies.  And with digital disruption everywhere, our strongest growth is in advisory as companies seek to leverage technology in everything they do as well as protect themselves from cyber attacks.”
