Leading Dublin accountancy practice Ryan Glennon is severing its links by the Baker Tilly network and joining the RSM network instead. The business will be rebranded as RSM Ireland.

RSM Ireland will remain wholly Irish owned and managing partner John Glennon (pictured) will continue to lead the firm. RSM has 38,500 staff in 120 countries and an annual network fee income of €4.2 billion.

Since its formation in 1987, Ryan Glennon has grown to be a mid-market leader with 12 partners and more than 120 staff. The firm plans to hire 20 people this year and expects expand its workforce by 50% over the next five years.

Glennon said a sustained area of growth for the last number of years has been in the area of Foreign Direct Investment, with 50% of its new clients from the last two years coming under this category.  Glennon expects that the link-up with RSM will result in a continued increase in international referrals for the firm.

RSM Ireland now has dedicated Irish desks at the RSM offices in London and Chicago, and New York and San Francisco will be brought on stream by June 2016.

Exciting Era

Glennon commented: “Membership in the dynamic global network of RSM will enable us to move forward into an exciting era of growth that will bring huge benefits to our firm, our clients, partners and staff.

“We already have a fantastic relationship with RSM’s UK and US firms and we are looking forward to working with other RSM firms around the world in delivering services to our ever expanding international client base.

“We plan to support clients with a local perspective combined with collective knowledge and resources of our global colleagues. All business is global now, and we are responding to that by teaming up with one of the global leaders in servicing the needs of mid-market businesses.

“We believe that it is our values and beliefs that distinguish us. RSM’s new global brand, messaging and strategy resonates with our own, so the transition to this vibrant, forward-thinking network will be a seamless one,” he said.

Jean Stephens, CEO of RSM International, said: “It is critical that we have a strong firm in Ireland that can support our delivery of global client services. The partners and staff of RSM Ireland share our common goal of building strong and collaborative relationships with clients, helping them make confident business decisions.”
