Smith & Williamson appoints John O’Callaghan as Managing Partner

Smith & Williamson has announced the appointment of business adviser John O’Callaghan as professional services Managing Partner – Ireland.

The wealth management, accountancy and business consultancy group plans to rebrand as Evelyn Partners this summer.

O’Callaghan has joined from BDO, where he has been a partner since 2006. The company said he will lead the professional services team in Ireland and focus on growing it through organic growth, strategic hires and acquisitions.

Paul Wyse, who has been in charge for two decades, commented: “I am proud to have led Smith & Williamson’s professional services business in Ireland for the past 20 years and am delighted to welcome a business adviser of John’s calibre to lead the team into the next phase of our growth. 

“The move will enable me to focus more directly on client servicing and developing new business opportunities for the firm in Ireland working with John and the wider team.”

The firm said that Paul Wyse (pictured) will continue to head up the firm’s Advisory team in Dublin and will continue his directorship roles with the group’s Irish subsidiary companies and Smith & Williamson Fund Administration Ltd.

S&W recently appointed Fiona Sweeney as CEO of Smith & Williamson Investment Management (Europe) (SWE), the Dublin subsidiary of Tilney Smith & Williamson which acts as the group’s European hub of operations.

SWE also has a full licence to operate across Europe under the EU’s MIFID regulations, serving the group’s clients across many countries.
