IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland have launched an online searchable database of Irish-based companies and multinationals working in sustainable and disruptive technologies and those that want to use said technologies to grow their business.

The portal was built with funding from the Public Service Innovation Fund and will allow firms to identify potential collaborators and providers when attempting to integrate new technologies into their business to address key challenges while progressing digitisation efforts.

"This is an excellent example of how the Public Service Innovation Fund can support collaboration within the public service in order to assist and develop businesses and also to drive Ireland’s digital transformation through the National Digital Strategy," Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Michael McGrath said.

"I am pleased that we have been able to support this initiative and I hope the portal has a positive impact for businesses operating in this area."

The portal will create regional, functional and sectoral visibility for companies in Ireland with specialist competencies in disruptive and sustainable technologies; allow for partnerships to accelerate the deployment of such technologies; and give a platform to indigenous and multinational companies to form business opportunities, collaborative initiatives and projects.

It will also have message board functionality to enable companies and users to raise challenges, ask questions and communicate, allowing them to better define their collective challenges and opportunities.

"This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate innovation at its best among Irish-based companies in disruptive technologies and give these cutting-edge companies an opportunity to showcase their solutions to world-class multinational players globally," Tom Kelly, divisional manager of industrial and life sciences at Enterprise Ireland, said.

Michael Lohan, divisional manager for life sciences and talent transformation & innovation at IDA Ireland, commented: "One of the key elements of IDA Ireland’s strategy is to expand and strengthen linkages between IDA clients and SMEs.

"The DTTP provides a unique means to foster knowledge sharing and build like-minded networks of innovators while promoting collaboration across the entire enterprise base."
