Relocation services company Irishrelo has cut its telecommunications costs by 25% by investing in VOIP technology, .
The company has chosen technology from Intellicom for its contact centre located in Kilcock, Co Kildare, to provide soft phones with headsets for its agents.
A softphone is a software programme for making telephone calls over the internet using a general purpose computer rather than dedicated hardware. Transmission of voice traffic over internet-based networks - Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) - calls are enabled.
Mark Scully, Irishrelo’s European team lead, commented: "Switching to Intellicom's VOIP service has saved our company almost 25% per cent in telecommunications costs and boosted productivity and gives us much more operational flexibility Irishrelo staff deal with calls from Kenya, Bahrain, Argentina, Australia and Belarus."
Intellicom deployed the cloud-based version of its VOIP serivce, Intune.
Irishrelo has a staff of 30 who manage employee relocation requests from all over the world. The firm helps overcome hurdles such as moving belongings, transporting family pets, finding schools and setting up bank accounts, as well as assisting with customs, visas and a corporate housing service.
